Well, it sure is uglifying the map... It mostly appears to be leaning things out, but there is that one rich hump left of center at the back.

Do the results look trustworthy to you? (They don't to me.)

Eric
Eric - VexMe was leaning the maps before in the center as well - I will level out the map and repost after my run home from work - maybe i should not have started with the VexMe map. I should keep AE enrichment off for this excercise right?

Here are the maps I will restart the auto tuning with - my EGO correction step is set to 1 and the authority is set to +- 50%, the engine is 4cylinders, I have the ignitions events per step set to 16.

Did you modify the msns-extra.ini file as described at the top of the thread?

It shouldn't matter, as when AE kicks in, ego correction goes to 100% and "turns off" autotune.
my EGO correction step is set to 1 and the authority is set to +- 50%
I like the step size of 1, but would set the authority down much smaller (maybe 10%), so that the autotune doesn't do crazy unstable jumps. Currently the autotune gain is 50%, so if you could jump a VE entry by as much as 25% in a single operation with the above numbers.

An interesting experiment would be to reduce the VE table entries in the cruise range down by 10%, run the autotune, then set them up by 10%, run it again and see what sort of results you get in both cases. They should be identical, if the autotune is doing its job and you've driven on each of the vertices sufficiently...

I followed Eric's instructions early in this thread and it worked perfectly - I made the changes in the custom.ini file --> car1\mtcfg\custom.ini

I will change the authority size to 15% and see what happens on the drive home. My drive home is 30-35mins usually, with 90% of it being highway cruising.

got the auto tune fixed its working went for about 60 ish miles drive a bit ago to take care of some things most of what it did was tiny -1 percent corrections here and there i can feel a little loss of power between idle and when i hit boost
i will run it some more when i go to work tonight 30 mile trip and 30 miles home in the morning

seems to work well minus the slight power loss some of my surging i had a problem with has cleared up a bit so thats good also i am currently running with out tps accel enrichment due to a messed up tps sensor that jumps around

soo my autotuning might be a little more accurate with out that added accel push of fuel ? and thus not over leaning it out? just a idea

now have you thought of a auto tune for the ignition maps? where it +1 degree's until it hits knock then steps back about 2-3 degree's with some form of limiting feature as to how much it can keep playing with a certain area of the map?

i would figure in 1 degree advance steps and 3-4 degree retard steps per knock event once you have a autotuned modified spark map that you should be pretty well covered for maximum for close to maximum efficiency versus engine safety

oh and i am pretty sure i have a ve table saved before the auto tune then a after 1st run auto tune and then the 3rd run auto tune if you want to look at them
plus i will have 2 more made between tonight and tomorrow going to and from work

Does autotune ignore data when the AE is active?

Read my mind. I've had some "concept" software running on mine for a while and found that throwing out any data with AE active + .3 seconds helped a lot. Personal note for Andy: my phone was stolen, # now inactive, getting another tomorrow with same # - have a couple of things to discuss with you.

And the next question Would it be possible to lock down the VE table and autotune the AE?

PS I have found the RPM driven AE that is in the latest versions of Extra to be WAY easier to understand and tune.

I may be getting greedy, but if the autolearn feature could be combined with the AFR target table feature, then the car would almost tune itself.
Any chance of that happaning?

Here's the first run with the new map. The bins to the left and up top (600, 1200 rpm) are untouched because I set EGO correction to activate above 1300rpm. I attached a datalog as well.
