Jerry, thats AWSOME news to hear!

Yeah, I know where my issues are in my first harness. I had been tracking down issues with my NB setup also. As soon as the weather turns nice again, or I get the Pops car out of the garage... :? My car is getting her WHOLE engine bay harness redone.

I think she is kind of mad at me right now for making everyone but her nice and pretty harnesses :P

so now i am confused. yes it is a fact that wb is very sensitive and can provide a linear output signal. the big issue is calibration, as each sensor requires an individual tweak in order to provide an output comparable to a standardized scale. and the question still is:
how well calibrated are the wb setups on the market? One would think that a $200-$400 price would include some level of calibration, but exactly what is that level? the comments in this thread seem rather mixed. my personal experience is very limited but i can say that when i compared a rather small nb log with a wb log (all MS parameters identical, just the o2 sensors changed), the readings were within 3-4% of each other or better in the 14-15+ to one range, more divergent in the flat portions of the nb.
Does anyone have more info on wb calibration?

little q, what size of resistor should i be useing? .. cheers. just installed an LC-1 but not hooked up to megasquirt yet. just got it emulating a narrowband for now.

I wouldn't suggest this just yet-- let's stick with Innovate's suggestion for now and wait to see what happens going forward. With most EMS systems there is no issue, and discussions for a permanent solution here are in the works, Innovate came by today and we discussed this a bit, I sent them an MS-II last week, and I talked with Bruce recently about it too. We'll get the right heads together soon and put this to bed for good.

I'm only interested in an R10 modification as don't really want to tear my loom apart again, or have an extra 'loose' resistor soldered onto the MS board.

Changing R10 seems like a nice neat and tidy solution.

The question is what if the extra resistance needs to be before the 1M resistor to ground (R11), and not after it like R10 is?

Without knowing this I can't tell you it will help to increase the value of R10... even though that would be my suspicion as to where it might need to be. I'm waiting on the experts here.

Calibration isn't realy the issue here. The issue is bad grounds or improperly done setups needing slight tweaks to compensate for ther faults. All the widebands I have used first off need the individual sensors calibrated to them. This is usally a simple process during the initial startup. So none of them are likely to be calibrated out of the box. Even a factory ECU needs time to calibrate the WB sensors.

This is differant from the setup of your outputs from the Wideband controller to the MegaSquirt. If a setup is less than perfect, you might need to tweak and reprogram the voltage outputs coming out of your WB controller. Or fix the issues.
