When you put it in the custom.ini, put it under the note that says so. Example-
;-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
; Add your customizations here, they will be read at the end of the
; standard megatune.ini processing and override any settings there.
;-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[AutoTune]
table = veTable1Map ; Should be the map3d_id of a TableEditor entry.
allowAutoTune = on
corrector = egoCorrection

; Vertex tolerance parameters
xRadius = 200 ; RPM
yRadius = 7 ; MAP

; Tuning block parameters
xLimits = 1500, 4000 ; RPM
yLimits = 60, 90 ; MAP
zLimits = 10, 200 ; VE

; Controller parameters
initialStartupInterval = 1.0 ; seconds
updateInterval = 1.0 ; seconds
proportionalGain = 0.5
lumpiness = 5 ; percent

Enzo,

In this last revision I added two diagnostic messages to tell you what is going on with the auto-tune algorithm when it is turned on, but isn't doing any tuning. They are

Auto-tune: Tuning point outside window

which indicates that the operating point has gone outside the global x and y limits, so the no action will be taken. Likewise

Auto-tune: Tuning point not near vertex

indicates that the operating point is inside the global window, but it is not near enough a vertex (as defined by the "radius" parameters), and so no action will be taken. These messages are intended to help you figure out why the algorithm is not changing a vertex on the table, and allow you to modify the xLimits, yLimits, xRadius and yRadius parameters accordingly.

Did anyone get a copy of MT 621 before Erics server crashed? PM me if you would please.

We did some testing with autotuning with the Honda this weekend with very positive results. Eric and I are doing a little fine tuning on the settings and this feature should be ready for prime time very soon. More info to follow soon.

WOW, I am IMPRESSED! I can't wait to try these goddies out now! We finally have the wideband setup and installed and ready to go play! Will there soon be a menu interface for configuring this inside the MT itself as opposed to in the custom .ini?

Jamie,

That's a problem. All the other data that MT displays in dialogs for you to edit is stored somewhere inside your MS; the tuning parameters for auto-tune are just MT-specific data and really have nothing to do with MS... This means that I need to write something to re-write the ini file, where all this data originates and is stored, in order to have a slick interface on it, and thus far that program is called the MegaTune Configurator. Until I add some sophistication to mtCfg, you'll have to edit the custom.ini to effect changes to the tuning algorithm's parameters.
