Ian-

Are all the Harley ignition sensors Hall Effect or were some of them VR? I'm starting to get some stuff together for my setup.

I think the first victim will be my S2. Kinda off topic, but I've got Fireman Jim's old Aerocharger kit. I was gonna start with spark only on the MicroSquirt and run the Mikuni. I'm not a fan of VOES based 2 curve setups - especially when, with a turbo, the engine can go through such wide ranges of cylinder stuffage.

Anyway, once I get the ignition dialed in, I'll probably work on the FI. Fun stuff.

As far as I know all the Evo Sportsters up to around 2003 and all Buells use a hall sensor. You can pick up the 5V signal from the connector, like when you set the timing you see 5V or zero V, that is the hall output.

I haven't followed code development for a few months, thought I'd wait until the Microsquirt got released, but right now I have other priorities.

When I was last thinking of using Microsquirt I had a couple of plans. One was to use the B & G code and I got a 8-1 wheel made up for the cam to use with the stock sensor. The second plan was to cut 4 of the 6 teeth off the stock Buell trigger rotor cup and use the MS2-Extra code running in dizzy mode. There are other options as well, but not as easy.

Lately there have been developments in when the MAP is sampled, this should make it easy to get a good MAP reading.

Good luck and have fun, if you are going to turbo a Buell, I think MS is definitely the best way to go about it.

Hess, I was wondering how you went on the Sturgis trip, missed your post from a week or 2 ago. Nice update, sounds like it went really well. Shame about the standard bike. The last thing you would expect to go wrong!

Hey Ian,
Yeah, it went well, all in all. And, really, anything I can fix at the motel is just an inconvenience. I can't really complain. It has been a great bike and given me minimal problems. I've toyed with the idea of going MS on it too, but it runs really well with the current setup and there is the KISS principal.
