The microsquirt pcb boards have been received from the manufacturer and will be scheduled for assembly/ soldering sometime next week.

Update to this: The manufacturer of the PCBs had an issue with one of the panels so they shipped an incomplete order (partial) to the CM. This occurs occasionally with any PCB house so what they have to do is rerun the panel. The panel is being made up right now and will ship out next week.
Since there is an setup/teardown cost for the CM (to load all of the component reels) we are waiting until the CM has all of the panels before running the entire lot. So this means probably late next week for the run. Then the boards must be tested, conformal coated, put in the cases, and packaged.

Sounds great! Can't wait to try one out.

There seems to be quite a few people waiting fo the launch of Microsquirt.....what size is the initial batch & is it likely that supply will meet demand? Just wondered if there is a pre order option or anything?
Eager to get my bike up & running!!

We have 250 being made up for the first batch. Because there are quite a few components the CM line setup time takes a while, so it makes sense to run big batches.
With this run there should be units available.
The CM is now working on the tooling for the pick and place. If all goes well then he will start building the boards by early next week. We then will take the boards and have them tested and programmed, then the CM get them back and puts them in the case and gets the harnesses ready.

so, if all gos according to plan and there is no delays, what is the ETA?

An optimistic no delay scenario would be:
Boards made next week
Boards programmed the following week
Boards sent back to mfgf the following week for packaging
Boards get to dealers the following week

Excellent, looks like they should be done before I'm done w/ the motor

Better getting reading

Still looking for about 2 weeks till pre-orders are taken?

Update on MicroSquirt board run:
I have 12 of the first-run assembled PCBs in hand for testing. After a few capacitor tweaks for the MAX3221 the boards are looking good. All inputs and outputs check out, and the new VR circuit is working to specs (+/- 150mv triggering). Its looking pretty solid
The 12 are gong back to the CM to be reworked with the new component changes. If these check out (no reason not to) then we will turn on the remaining boards. Then the PCBs get sent out for programming and verification, then back to the CM for conformal coating and assembly into the enclosure, then packaged with the harness.
Its looking really good from here!

A quick update:
Looks like we are all set with the new boards. Al checked one out over the weekend and it looks great. So we turned on the run for the remainder of the boards, I will receive them later this week. I then will have them programmed and tested, then send back to the CM to get them mounted in the enclosures and packaged with the harness.
The timing is good, Al is pretty much at the tie-off point for base MS-II code so this is all coming together nicely.
Were on the home stretch!
