Need a basic Dizzy V8 Rover Ignition Map please

Hi all,

Ok, I have I think now started the path to Dizzyless ignition on the 4.5 V8 , thanks so far to Bill s and Fridge.

I am trying to find the basic ignition maps / advance curves for the following dizzys :

Rover V8 35DM8 (one with the amp behind the coil)

Rover V8 35DLM8 (one with the amp on the dizzy 3.9s etc)

Anyone help ?

Use the base timing map in Megasquirt and work from there - that's what I did.

I then bumped up the full advance to 36BTDC and used Lance's "setting up and ignition table" to re-hash it.

Thanks for the note, I should have siad - I'm using Megajolt only.

Have thought long and hard about this, and there are all sorts of reasosn for this, too long to explain here wuithout boring everyone, and as such I placed this post ?

Anyone have these Ignition data ?......is this answer you have given same or different, at the mo I am on a vertical learning curve, with bits of grease here and there

It is basically a copy of an original Chevy TPI tabell

Thanks for this.

I am at the moment on a vertical learning curve - with grease applied to sections all the way up, and at the mo I feel as though I am still close to the floor !

Although I am going the megajolt route, I am sure some members here could help me, basically I am looking for dtata, or PC screen dumps to give me a basic number of parameters for a selection of Rover V8, though I have printed yours off too !

I need help with members info / dtata on ignition maps, torgue graphs dtaa etc.

So, if you have.:

1. Ignition tables of any sort, ie timing position vs RPM for any engines (V8 3.5 2.9 4.2s 4.6s or specials like mine then please post or PM me and I'll ping over my e-mail.

2. Torque graphs data shetts, again as in the above, for any config engine.

3. Anyone who has done this with megasquirt programmable Ignition(using MAP) then please give me any data such as what you have settings at etc. screen shots would be superb ???

Whilst many V8 rover engines will vary, there should be a consistancy acroos the board to give me a starting (no pun intended) point .....

HELP !

Thanks in advance, maybe I'll soon have a dizzyless programable ignition system soon, with a blinding spark, and waterproof !

It's not Megajolt but should get u started. I am not real familiar with the Megajolt but have you checked the success stories forum?

There used to be a megajolt forum but I haven't seen it for a while. I would also look in the timing and ignition setup forum:

I just have the V8 Rover (95 Disco 3.9) not the Distributor curve ;-)
