VE table 1 and VE Table 2

Okay, just to see if i'm getting this right in the megamanual, if I use single table, both injector banks (in my case of a V8, 4 inj 1 and 4 inj2 ), and if i set it to dual table then 4 inj 1 = VE table 1 and 4 inj 2 = VE table 2?
i'm guessing that in a V8 one injector naturally aspirated engine that using a dual table is going to buy me anything other than more tuning work.
Am I on the right track here?

Yes Patrick,
thats how I see it, and having just tuned a v8 I choose to stick with single table. Especially with only the one wideband controller.

i did auto tune under no load (since i only have NB O2 right now) and am looking to do the spark table and then the accel enrichments. did you have a v8 chevy by chance to see your spark curve as an example?

Here's a timing curve that I got from a Chevy High Performance article written by Jeff Smith in the past few years. It's purely an advance-vs-RPM chart, so you'll have to come up with the vacuum advance area.
Also, you probably don't want to use Dual Table on V8 with 1 injector per cylinder. I think the Dual Table's primary usage is on high-boost engines. All the 'regular' injectors will drive off INJ1, and then a second, usually larger set of injectors is controlled by INJ2 and table 2. Running two sets like this lets you run a smaller injector for better idle control, yet still able to deliver lots of fuel for high-boost.

i just checked that out and that's pretty cool. I'll use it as a base like you said (timing).
on the dual table it started making sense, for a bit i thought i could use 2 tables to expand the 12x12 to 24x24 but after the mega manual, replies and other posts i know get the design of the dual purpose function.

If the 2nd VE table could be triggered by a combination of, say, TPS & RPM, I could see where you could use dual 12x12 tables to achieve lots of resolution in 0-3000 RPM, maybe 20-70 kpa, and the second table for 3000-7000 RPM and 71-100kpa, or something along those lines. Smooth transition from table 1 to table 2 and back might be tricky.

Stick with the one table. Anything else is likely to be a headache until you are really experienced and even then I'd guess very few are actually using the dual tables.
