AutoTune help

I've been reading through the posts here and I've seen several asking the same question but no real answers. I've tuned my ve table using cng1's wideband tuning software, I couldn't get VexMe to work, and it's pretty close. I've tried to use AutoTune but I can't get it to make changes to my VE tables. I've changed the ego control % from between 5-25% still no changes to the VE table. I don't get any errors from AutoTune just no changes. What settings would or should I change to generate some tuning changes, or is it possible I have a perfectly tuned table :P

phongshader,

Did you see this: http://www.megamanual.com/megatune.htm#autotune

Give the latest MegaLogViewer a try, version 2.2 does VE Table tweaking.

I've been playing around with MegaLogViewer and it looks great and I was really excited to see the VE analyzer, but when I run the VE analyzer it leans my VE table so much that the engine won't run. It knocks about 20% off the top of the affected VE bins. Any ideas, suggestions?

back to AutoTune.
If I read the AutoTune page correctly the only 2 settings that really affect the AutoTune step size is EGO authority% and proportionalGain%?
If I were to increase these, in theory, I would see larger changes in my VE bins? I've increased my EGO authority up to 25% but haven't changed proportionalGain% above .5 and get no change in my table. Would increasing the proportionalGain%, in theory, result in a change in my tables?

I'm a noob, but I was looking through the documentation as well, to figure out why Autotune "seems to do nothing".

What I found is that you actually set up Autotune in your custom.ini file. It has default text like this:

#elif MS_II
table = veTable1Map
allowAutoTune = on
corrector = egoCorrection1
xLimits = 1500, 4000
yLimits = 60, 90
zLimits = 10, 200
xRadius = 200
yRadius = 7
initialStartupInterval = 1.0
updateInterval = 1.0
proportionalGain = 0.5
lumpiness = 5

I think having the y limit start at 60 is why it seems to have no effect. You need to have your car in some sort of tune to even bring the load up that high anyway. So I think you edit this file in the directory of your current project (C:\Megasquirt\car1\custom.ini, for example) and then run Megatune.

Someone will surely chime in if I am wrong.

these are my settings in the C:\Program Files\MegaSquirt\car1\mtCfg folder:

#elif MS_II
table = veTable1Map
allowAutoTune = on
corrector = egoCorrection1
xLimits = 1000, 6000
yLimits = 20, 100
zLimits = 10, 200
xRadius = 200
yRadius = 7
initialStartupInterval = .75
updateInterval = .75
proportionalGain = 0.5
lumpiness = 5
