building a 528" stroker mopar big block... trying to plan everything -- have a question on timing control- I see MSII has the ability to control GM HEI and Ford EDIS... what will I have to do to control the timing on my Mopar ? I am planning on using a MSD distributor with an MSD 6AL box... do I need this stuff ? of will the MS render the MSD box useless (it sounds like it will control everything) --- however - how can the MSD distributor be modified to work with MSII ?

The VR signal from the MSD Distributor goes straight to Pin24 of the DB37. Make sure you assemble the VR circuit and jumper appropriately. You can use the IGBT driver to fire the MSD6AL's white trigger wire through Pin36.
Many of us are using Pro-Billets (not sure if anyone is using a ready-to-run though) and 6AL ignitions. Make sure you use shielded wire for the tach input and preferably the IGN output too.
Check the manual too, it has a page for setting up the 6AL.

I run a Mallory Unilite with MSD 6AL and a MSD Timing Computer. I have the dist locked out (no advance) and let the Timing Computer handle the advance. Megasquirt can do spark advance with MSnS-e029q firmware but you will have to rum a MS I as the MS II cannot run this firmware. Mine is a 383, Eddy heads, 284/484 cam, 36lb injectors on a dual quad manifold with dual 65mm throttle bodies. I am very pleased with the performance of MS. I'm sure I can dail it in further and make it better. The hardest part for me was to get the fuel mapped correctly. I finally paid for dyno time using a light load and a WB sensor to get it right.

alright - so MS will not take the place of the 6AL box... and the MSD pro-billet will work with MS as well... sweet... more things to add to the list
