Injector dimensions (CIS conversion)

Post by jaybird840 »

OK,
I finally removed one of the CIS injectors and cups that are on my '82 380SL Mercedes... It looks like I could be home free on the conversion! The CIS plastic injector cup has close to the same dimensions as a standard EFI injector. The upper section of the CIS cup mics .630" like a standard EFI Injector. The shoulder appears to be consistent, too. Last question is that the lower portion of the CIS cup mics .540" where the EFI injector mics .516"-.520", but it doesn't have an O-ring. So, I guess what I'm asking is what does the outer dimension of the O-ring mic, and does it look like an EFI injector will slide right in? I think that if the O-ring measures >.540" (giving it the ability to "crush" a bit on insertion to provide a good seal) I should be home free. Thoughts? Thanks!

This should work well for you. I build fuelrails for Porsche 924 CIS conversions and also modified injector cups. Not all injector o-rings are the same size. .540" may be a little large for some but if you check different suppliers you should find some that fit snug.
