The MegaSquirt Project has experienced explosive growth other the years, with hundreds of new MS installations occurring every week - a phenomenal success! MegaSquirt has been successfully used in all aspects of Internal Combustion engine applications including R&D, Industry, Race, and Research. The MS project has transformed itself from a simple R&D project into a full-featured mature engine control system. To reflect this the support structure has also changed to meet the needs of MegaSquirt Users.
Moving forward, the R&D forums for MegaSquirt project are in a read-only mode - no new forum posts are accepted.
However the forums will remain available for view, they still contain a wealth of information on how MegaSquirt works, how it is installed and used. Feel free to search the forums for information, facts, and overview. While the R&D forum traffic has slowed in recent years, this is not at all a reflection of Megasquirt users, which continue to grow year after year. What has changed is that the method of MegaSquirt support today has rapidly moved to Facebook, this is where the vast majority of interaction is happening now. For those not on Facebook the msextra forums is another place for product support. Finally, for product selection assistance, all of the MegaSquirt vendors are there to help you select a system, along with all of the required pieces to make it complete.
This forum is for discussing ignition setup, tuning, and troubleshooting for MicroSquirt (TM)

I have a MS V2.2 board with a MSII. I am having probalems with my tach signal from a MSD6A. I ran a wire directly from the tach output on the MSD to pin 24 of the MS. All I got was an ocasional signal. I then tried getting the tach signal from the output on a MSD tach adapter (8920) and got the same results. I was having the exact same problem with an HEI. I ended up switching to the MSD because of the problem. That makes me think that it is not the distributer or coil causing the problem. I ran all new wires from the ignition to the relay board.
The TPS, O2, IAT and CLT seem to work just fine on the stimulator. The RPMs seem a little funny to me. The lights blink but the RPMS will only go to 2000RPM. If RPMF is turned all the way to the left RPMC will only adjust the RPMs from 0 to 156. If RPMF is all the way to the right RPMC will adjust from 0 to 2085. if RPMC is all the way to the left RPMF does not do anything. If RPMC is all the way to the right RPMF adjust from 156 to 2085. IS this normal or do I have a problem with my stimulator or the MS.
What wire do I use from the MSD6A box. The wire going to the negitive side of the coil, the tach output from the box or the output from the tach adapter?
When I hook the MS up to the vehicle and crank over the engine. I get an occasional signal from the ignition system (see the datalog).
When I hook the MS up to the stimulator I can turn the TPS, O2, IAT and CLT pots and they correctly control the variable in the "real-time display screen" in MegaTune.
The RPMs displayed on the gauges in MegaTune are as indicated in my first post. Only the LEDs blinking are the Fidle and Pump on the stim not INJ1 and INJ2.
The Fidle and Pump LEDs blink on the stimulator when active. I can control how fast they blink with the RPMF and RPMC pots. When both RPMC and RPMF are turned all the way to the right both INJ LEDs light up on the stim and the injector LED on the MS light us.
Both the warm-up and acceleration LEDs on the MS seem to function properly.
you use the tach output from the msd do not use the -side of the coil your output from the msd might be bad i have had quite a few of them go bad in the past .
