O2 Volt gauge

Post by Scott Bruce »

Hi Lance
I'm using a MS-II with I believe version 3.0 software. Isn't the o2 gauge suposed to go up to .9- 1 volt when you put your self in series with the sensor input wire and 12V pos? It only goes to .4 volts. ( I was taught to use a 1.5 volt battery or put your self in the circuit). I get cross counts but it never goes up to .5 or higher. any ideas? Just to make sure, The sensor used is just a universal sensor correct? It doesn't use the sensosr that changes resistance.
Thank You

Scott,

There is a bit of a bug in some versions (up to 2.36) of the code for EGO (more accurately, there is a 'misunderstanding' between MS-II and MegaTune as to what the narrow band curve should look like).

Try setting the EGO to one of the WB (I set it to DIY-WB), then shut down both MT and MegaSquirt. Then fire them both up again and setting the 'calibrate AFR table' to narrow-band - be sure to press 'okay' - just because it is already highlighted doesn't mean you are done. Cycle MT and MS again, and see if it is better. This has worked for me.

So your saying to set megatune to wide band sensor instead of narrow band in the EGO settings?

Another question, has any one found a fix for the idle air control so that the car will idle down after a cold start with out having to restart the car?It never start, warms up and idles down with out a restart
Thank you

Scott,

No, I'm saying set it to wide band, then set it back to narrow band.

Have you jumpered the large resistors on the bottom of MS-II as described in the manual? That fixes it for some people, at least. Also, upgrade to the latest code, if you haven't already.
