How to load new .vex files without losing the old ones?

Hello,
I've been given a fuel and ignition map from a friend that has a similar engine setup as mine, they are in .vex format. How do I go about trying them on my engine for a test drive but still be able to go back to my tables if I like them better?

I see that I can do a tables>veTable1>file>table import to get the new .vex map loaded but do I need to export my old one to somewhere on my laptop so it's not "lost"?

Thanks,
Fred

Two options:

1.) Export your existings tables first. You can them import them later if needed.

2.) Save the settings file (.msq) first. That file contains all configuration settings including the tables. You can then reload the entire lot from .msq.

Gotcha, thanks. Also, when importing new tables should I have the engine off and does the power need to be cycled or did I read that wrong somewhere?

thanks

Fred,
Some settings require "rebooting" the MS, requiring you to power it off/on in order for them to take (some of the injector characteristic parameters for example). If the settings in the msq don't modify those type of parameters, you can load the file while the engine is running.
