faulty pickup?

Hey. Running MS-II, v3, 2.36
EDIS-4 with 36-1 wheel
Has anyone experienced a faulty pickup on EDIS?
I have some strange drops in engine performance, wich result to one run with one small drop, one with several severe drops, and the next run is clean as a whistle. I have tried to adjust the gap between wheel and pick up, with minor results. I still have intermiddent faults to the performance of the engine. I do not have a log file here, but will post it shortly.
These faults are very unstable...
Can I be right that this comes down to a faulty pick up?
