TPSacc question

Post by jsmcortina »

This is more likely to be an MS1/Extra or logger issue. Could you post a datalog snippet so we can see what you mean? James

Just a bump to get it back to the recent list... still looking for some idea.

I tried 29t with same results.

TPSacc question

Post by hobieboy »

Well, just came back from my maiden run (new engine with MS for the 1st time at higher RPM & boost) and finally had her mostly tuned :D but TPSacc still shows BIG positive AND negative numbers.

MSLV indicates something in the range of -2500 to 10e8 [Shocked]

My PW does seem to follow either way - it will increase regardless of whether the # is positive or negative. So maybe I can simply forget this issue then?

Though I'm still curious about how to interpret this number in the log.

TPSacc question

Post by John L. »

This is the exact same problem I have right now, except mine DOES change the pulsewidth drastically, it's enough that when TPSdot accel is turned on and I floor the car I get a violent cut out either due to a rich or lean condition, if I turn the accel enrichment off (high trigger voltage) then the problem goes away but...I have no accel. I can not figure this out for the life of me, the logs of TPS voltage look just fine to me, very smooth, but the TPSacc variable is all over the place. I hope someone knows what to do because I posted about this problem and working out what was going on quite a few weeks ago and never got any help.

TPSacc question

John,
A couple of thoughts & comments -
a) My PW DOES change like yours in most cases.

b) I was getting lean pop when I accelerate hard on track. I did a few things & that went away: turn decel enrich off when MAP>105 (i.e. on boost) and increase my accelEnrich amount more @ high V/S case.

c) In your case, make sure everything else is good: rpm spike, TPS reading, etc.

Everything else looks good, I can clearly see the AFR on my wideband EGO variable going either to the extreme lean or extreme rich depending on which way the TPSacc wigs out.
