cant get started/idle....

Post by shadowplane676 »

info:
motor is a 2001 Eclipse GT 3.0L 24v v6
210cc injectors
9:1 C/R

MS-II v3.0
spark and fuel
IAC stepper motor

I have been trying to get started for a few days. i DO have correct sensor signals, spark and fuel (checked and rechecked).

i started with 88%/23% of req fuel (calculated at upper: 15.8, lower 5.3)
which was 13.9 and 3.7 respectively. i have been playing around with the starting PWs and i can get a little bit of run with 14.7/4.7 and slight throttle and about 5 sec+ cranking. more or less throttle and she dies. Checked the plugs and they are black, but it wipes right off. any suggestions?

p.s. msq file attached

Are you using the based calculated map made by megatune? Is so, try table transforming the VE map by 0.9 until it starts running a little better. Once ou get it warned up a little and the O2 starts reading, you can begin adjusting the VE's.

Also try 2 injections per engine cycle and turn the PW limiting thing to 75%.

It looks lik you need more fuel arond the lower rpms under higher loads, and less fuel at low rpm low loads...you should have a pretty even slope, nit a big flat thing.

Tyr this to start with (fuel table)

Try truning the number of injections per cycle down to 2 or 3.

Well never mind. I can't upload it for some reason.

that table i have a lil out of whack?

and tuning down the inj/cycle to batch or 2 shots might help get it started? i thought that with it at 6, it just reduced the fuel per shot, as the number of shots increased......

Yeah, it does to an extent...but you have time where in the injector is opening and closeing that you don'thave controll over. You just have control over what's inbetween. so say that smallest you can fire is for 1ms(it a little longer but follow me)...with 6 injections, you have 6ms of fuel. That's probably too much fuel at idle...so try knocking the squirts down to 2 or 3 and see if that helps out.
