required fuel

Post by 195suz »

What does it mean when you have reduce required fuel to almost nothing. The program says 14.1 and i have it at 1.5. to get 14.5:1 at idle. Do i need to reduce my VE tables ? im running alpha N .this is a 2 cylinder 2 stroke oddfire.

The engine is a 350 cc yamaha 2 stroke firing 180 degrees. Injectors are stock Yamaha R6 90cc a minute. Im running fuel and ignition with the microsquirt. If its any help I did pull a datalog off of the bike before I shut it down and you can clearly see the rpms drop out at roughly at 3000 RPMs so Im pretty sure Im getting some sort of RF interference or just a bad VR sensor.

are you sure about the injector size...
i thought they would be bigger than 90cc, my 750 ones are 240cc

:RTFM: Hi,

If you are still having the RF problem, I think that you will find somewhere that the VR sensors cable is reversed polarity on the V1 Microsquirts (i eventually found the reference after I had sorted out the problem!). I found it out the hard way!!!! interference and resets everywhere. Solution? well I used co-axial cable for the coil leads with the screens tied to earth at the main earth point. I also managed to cut the VR sensor wires near the connector and re-reverse them. A simple way of checking your loom is to use a modern digital multimeter and see if there is a resistance between the end of the screen of the VR cable and ground. If there is less than 1 ohm you are OK and the loom has the correct wiring, If the resistance is higher (thinks several 100s of ohms) the loom is reversed. Even if the loom is OK the screened cables to the coils is a good solution.
