I just purchased this crank sensor

and a 36-1 tooth trigger wheel from DIYautotune. My question is which wires do I hook this sensor up to on the microsquirt? The OptIN or VR1? Also when I mount this what should the air gap be between the sensor and the trigger wheel?

Looks like a VR sensor. Usually a hall effect sensor is an active circuit so it needs a voltage supply - and three wires. Try mounting the sensor face about 1/8" from the wheel teeth. Load tooth analyzer onto the microsquirt, crank the engine and see what sort of signal you get, if any, and adjust the distance until you get something to show up.
