Knock sensing

Looking for info on knock sensing. To start:

Is the microsquirt knock input ready to interpret a knock signal?

Does the knock sensor need an amplifier first?

Or is the input only for a retard signal?

Does code 2.890 even use the knock ability?

Yes the code has had knock sense capa

There has been a knock sense capability in the code for many years, way before 2.890 and it has remained throughout, including 3.4x code. Only the inital (red) microsquirt boards lacked the capability to see a knock signal (no pin to put it on), but on the V2.0 board a knock signal can be seen on AD7. However, there is no conditioning circuitry, only simple RC protection.

The code for knock sensing looks at the knock voltage, thresholds it, and applies retard/ no retard according to two strategies.
