High Voltage Tach Output Troubleshooting

I am having issues using the Green/Yellow Tach Output wire to drive the Veglia Tachometer on my '81 Fiat Spider.

My Setup is as follows.
- Microsquirt (Old Version) ECU
- Code V2.88 that came with the controller
- TunerStudio V3.0.03
- Microsquirt is directly driving a EDIS 4 Coil wasted spark. VR Sensor is giving accurate signal RPM to the ECU and I have had no other issues with ignition control.
.msq is attached

The tachometer was previously driven from the negative side of the coil. Doing some forum searches and checking out the MS hardware manual I constructed an external circuit using a relay coil and transistor 2N5551 to try to replicate the high voltage spike that I think the tach needs to run. The circuit I used is attached. The "ECU Input" is the Tach Output wire (green/yellow).

When I start the car the Tach moves a little bit and they stays at zero. Have a wired this incorrectly? Is there something I have to enable in the software to get the Tach Output enabled? Maybe there is something else I should try?

Thanks.
