MicroSquirt.com read only forum (Jan.15,2018)

Hi guys!

I've succesfully installed a Microsquirt on my Zetec powered Westfield but, although I've read the manual twice, I can't seem to get the basic settings for the idle control right and so the car starts, but starts to "yo-yo" in RPM and AFR right away until it dies.

MAP shows 115 with the engine out and drops to about 30 whilst cranking. I think it dies because of lack of fuel after start. I've got a new problem. With the MAP sensor disconnected from the manifold, the engine idles without problems. When I connect the MAP sensor again, the engine dies. When I attempt a restart, the engine fires and dies right away.
Any idea what the problem might be?

Nobody suggestions?

Made a pretty stupid mistake connecting the MAP sensor which resulted in a incorrect MAP signal. Fixed the wiring and it started right away!

I did a lot of reading in the manual, but the autotune function still is a mistery to me. Is it something that is on all the time?

I played with the settings a little bit and indeed the number of cylinders was set to 8. Now I've got a steady RPM of 250 while cranking. I suspect that the battery is close to death, so I'll need to get a new one.
