I'd like to share the TPS signal, is this possible?

Post by Ludotech »

Hello everybody,

I'm going to start my engine next week(I hope!) but first, I'd like to control injection only and keeping the OEM ignition system so i'll be sure that my injection parameters are OK before trying to control fuel and ignition with the EDIS system.
I will receive a 36-1 trigger wheel next week and I'm going to install it on the engine, a VR sensor and the EDIS module with the coil pack but these will be connected to four spark plug that won't be installed on the engine, I HOPE THAT EVERYBODY UNDERSTAND WHAT I MEAN:
The OEM ECU will control only the ignition and I'll configure and tune the injection with MS II.
So, the EDIS system will send the PIP signal to MS II for the tach signal but will not control the ignition on the engine, for the moment, MS II will only control injection, later, it will control both injection and ignition.

So, I have one question: The OEM ECU needs a signal from the TPS but MS II needs also this signal, can I connect the TPS to both MS II and the OEM ECU at the same time?

Thanks!

Why not just let the EDIS module fire the engine at 10 Deg BTDC to get it running? You do this by disconnecting the SAW signal from the EDIS module
and then you have fixed 10 Deg spark timing. Should be good enough to
get your engine started and running a bit. This is of course assuming that
you've got the trigger wheel and the VR sensor in the right place!!!

You should be able to tap into the oem tps signal as long as it`s 5v, you`d have to tie the MS grounding wires in with the ecu grounds to ensure a clean signal, it`s worth a go.

Just get +12v ground and the TPS into the MS and have a look in MegaTune, it`ll show up straight away if the TPS is reading correctly.

I don't know this verb, what does that mean?

yes, I was thinking about that, but I think that it'll be very difficult to tune the injection and ignition parameters at the same time! In fact, I don't really know where to start  :RTFM:

Thanks for your replies!

'Bin' in this case means throw away. Getting the tuning right can be hard sometimes but everyone around here will help you if they can.
