PWM IAC, Protection Diode?

Post by wes kiser »

In the past (cased ms2's, ms3's, and usquirt module based ecu's), in every istance in which I have used a PWM IAC valve, I installed a protection diode on FIDLE (and I know ford did in their OE installations as well). I assume this is still required, and is not "build it/onboard" the microsquirt (v 3.0 if it matters)? I have done half a dozen usquirt installs, but never with a PWM idle valve.

It is on board the MicroSquirt.

<ob pedantic> The MOSFET used for the Idle pin has an inherent diode in its construction (as all MOSFETs do). There is no discrete diode on the uS, which is why you aren't seeing it on the schematic. </smart bum>
