Tonight, ive just upgraded my spare MS to MSnS-Extra020 with MegaTune 2.25-b271 and still get comm errors when i try to send the enrichments page - constants page sends ok.
Also it appears that i get errors sending VE tables now that they are 12x12 im sure when they were 8x8 it was ok before.
Using IBM Thinkpad t41 & WinXP sp1

Not sure what this has to do with your MegaSquirt, unless you want to transfer your megasquirt stuff from your pc to your laptop.
The best way (for me) to connect two computers together is through a network connection. most all laptops have a PC card slot right? get a cheap pc-card network card for your laptop with a 10/100baseT RJ45 connection. Get a network card for your desktop pc, if it does'nt have one already. Hook together the two with a CROSSOVER network cable, you can get one of these at most all computer stores. This will connect both pc's together and will communicate via micro$oft networking for simple file transfers. Just make sure that each pc has its own compatable TCP/IP address.
You can use the parallel port to transfer files with windows XP, or with file transfer software in 9x, you need a special "File transfer" or "laplink" (hint) style cable.
You can also use the serial connection to transfer files, it's alot slower, but it works, you need a "null modem" cable or adaptor, and best to use SLIP for Machine to machine transfers. If you have terminal software running on both ends, than you can direct connect and use a binary file transfer protocol like x, y or z modem. Most pc's have this built in (hyperterm) personally I still use my 10 year old copy of Telix for DOS. http://www.telix.com
USB comes in three flavors, USB 1.0, 1.1 and USB 2.0, if you have USB 1.0 you can transfer at least 1.5megabits per second (Mbps) through the port, now considering that most serial connections are from 2400bps to 115kbps (9600bps is most common) you should have no problem with speed on a USB to serial adaptor. The biggest problem comes when setting up your com program, you need to be able to set it for the com port which your USB to Serial connection driver is using. some USB-serial devices only allocate com 5 and higher, some will allocate any com port. So as long as you can match up the com port in your WB O2 software, with the com port of your USB-serial connection, you should be fine.
BTW- USB1.1=12Mbps USB2.0=480Mbps This is the maximum total throughput per port, your actual speed will vary based on CPU load.

thats exzactly what i need the conection for. is to conect the laptop to the home pc. the way i get data onto the laptop was by burning a cd with the software i need from my desktop pc and installing it off that cd onto the laptop, but id like to be able to upload my datalogs from my laptop to my desktop pc. i think my laptop has a slot for a network card, but no network card is present. i was just looking for a way using the things that are on the labtop already.
