The MegaSquirt Project has experienced explosive growth other the years, with hundreds of new MS installations occurring every week - a phenomenal success! MegaSquirt has been successfully used in all aspects of Internal Combustion engine applications including R&D, Industry, Race, and Research. The MS project has transformed itself from a simple R&D project into a full-featured mature engine control system. To reflect this the support structure has also changed to meet the needs of MegaSquirt Users.
Moving forward, the R&D forums for MegaSquirt project are in a read-only mode - no new forum posts are accepted.
However the forums will remain available for view, they still contain a wealth of information on how MegaSquirt works, how it is installed and used. Feel free to search the forums for information, facts, and overview. While the R&D forum traffic has slowed in recent years, this is not at all a reflection of Megasquirt users, which continue to grow year after year. What has changed is that the method of MegaSquirt support today has rapidly moved to Facebook, this is where the vast majority of interaction is happening now. For those not on Facebook the msextra forums is another place for product support. Finally, for product selection assistance, all of the MegaSquirt vendors are there to help you select a system, along with all of the required pieces to make it complete.

Cranks good, starts good, dies all of a sudden after 3 seconds. played with the tuning, either way I go, more or less fuel does the same thing. More or less timing, same thing.

Yes, the stock ecu is still controlling the fuel pump.
But, thats not the problem. I jumped the fuel pump strait to the battery and it changed nothing.
Alright, I was asking because I ran into problems there with the fuel pump relay since it needs to see rpm and without the stock coil there was no rpm going to the relay.
My car would start only on the primp pulse and die 3 seconds after starting. Can you get use a datalog from when you try starting it!
What are you using for fast idle? Your FIdle threshold is only 40°F?
I would suggest turning EGO control off by setting the step size to zero for now.
Are you running EDIS? Is your SAW wire disconnected and verified 10°BTC?
MAPdot AE is fine but perhaps disable or switch to TPSdot for troubleshooting purposes.
Please post a log of the start attempts from before power-on.
For fast idle I'm using the stock fast idle valve on the intake manifold.
Yes running EDIS. Not verified cuz VW's have the worst timing setup.
It does start, and runs strong for a couple seconds so if the timing was off I would think it would just run bad or weak.
