The MegaSquirt Project has experienced explosive growth other the years, with hundreds of new MS installations occurring every week - a phenomenal success! MegaSquirt has been successfully used in all aspects of Internal Combustion engine applications including R&D, Industry, Race, and Research. The MS project has transformed itself from a simple R&D project into a full-featured mature engine control system. To reflect this the support structure has also changed to meet the needs of MegaSquirt Users.
Moving forward, the R&D forums for MegaSquirt project are in a read-only mode - no new forum posts are accepted.
However the forums will remain available for view, they still contain a wealth of information on how MegaSquirt works, how it is installed and used. Feel free to search the forums for information, facts, and overview. While the R&D forum traffic has slowed in recent years, this is not at all a reflection of Megasquirt users, which continue to grow year after year. What has changed is that the method of MegaSquirt support today has rapidly moved to Facebook, this is where the vast majority of interaction is happening now. For those not on Facebook the msextra forums is another place for product support. Finally, for product selection assistance, all of the MegaSquirt vendors are there to help you select a system, along with all of the required pieces to make it complete.

We have solved our processor supply problem and have the boards for a run of sequencers. However, we have to get our backlog of MS2s and microsquirts produced first. That should be done this week, and next. After that, possibly as soon as late next week, we should be able to do a small run of sequencers, and distribute afew of these to people that have previously done beta testing and are ready to go. As soon as we get a positive report from these people we will release more for sale.
Hoping for an update on the Sequencer boards and beta testing leading to sales. Regretably missed the Megameet due to son's wedding on the same day. HowGoesIt with the Sequencer?
One of the thjngs discussed at the meeting was why everything has been delayed. This has been caused by a worldwide parts shortage plus a lot of "misinformed person" companies who stopped making anything when the economy crashed, then realized they can't make money if they don't make anything, so they have all now suddenly loaded up the contract manufacturer with work they want done yesterday. So he has only been able to make smaller batches. The Sequencer has been in the queue since whenever I said it was, but keeps getting put to the back of the line because by the time all the MS2, MS3 and microsquirt batches have been shipped, it is time for a rerun of everything. Because the others are existing products, they get priority. What has also held up the sequencer is that a special one-time laser etched mask has to be made for it and this takes time. Once the mask is finished and the assembly process for it is programmed, it will be a lot easier to slip a run of sequencers in between production runs.
The short answer is we can't give any more than a wild guess that a test batch should ready in a month or so.

I hope so. We finally have a batch of new Sequencers in hand and the new hardware on it - a new power supply and a new dual channel VR sensor processing chip - both test out ok on the bench. I was able to start up a Sequencer with normal battery voltage, then turn the volts down from 12V to *** 3V *** and it kept on running. You won't be able to go down this far with a real engine, but that will be because the injectors won't open, not because of the ECU. The VR sensor chip also works, but we won't know how much of an improvement until we test it on many real engines.
So, depending on how well continued testing goes, we should be able to send some to beta testers in a few weeks.
