DC ground vs. AC ground

I'm not exactly sure if I need to do something special for grounding my DC microsquirt components. My Polaris snowmobile has an AC alternator which originally used an AC regualtor, which I have changed to an AC/DC regulator/rectifier. Do I need to separate the AC grounds from the DC grounds, using the battery as the true DC ground?

Looking at my polaris manual for EFI sleds they ground them both to Chassis ground, but I've been reading they might need to be separated.

I'm doing a fuel only set-up. if that changes anything.
