has anyone megasquirted using benzene mixed with octane fuel?

I run a benzene/octane mix in a cabeuretted 4k engine. the mix is 750mL into 15L of 95 RON and is probably about 10% more powerful than regular gas. Tuning seems no different to pump gas, all done my ear mind you.

you could keep using your mechanical advance if you use a VR sensor (instead of coil) to provide the MS2 with its RPM signal

re 1 & 2. its a standalone/complete fuel injection and spark control unit.
to answer 3; almost any dizzy should work fine. where you might encounter difficulty is getting an RPM signal into the MS

is it an SR20DE engine?

works for me! using a megasquirt-II PCBv3.
slackware 10.2 linux 2.6.15.2 & crossover office

hint: if it runs really slowly make sure your not running too many other high-priority processes (ie do a killall artsd or killall esd)

hint 2: as root 'chmod a+rwx /dev/ttyS0' or whichever tty device your MS is connected to.

hint 3: commercial wine distro's work quite well, eg crossover office ...

a software solution would be nicer, but ohwell
